We have made the switch from Epoxy to Polyurethane resin in our cabochons. Polyurethane does not yellow or go hard over time. It will out last epoxy and stay crystal clear for many years to come. Polyurethane does feel a little different then epoxy in that it a bit softer, but a far superior product.
